Statice (pastel mix)

Pastel shades mix produces flowers in pastel coloured bracts which grow atop the stiff angular stems.

Statice has been cultivated since the mid-17th century as a garden flower, but also as an herb which was used for the treatment of dysentery as well as other ailments.

Ideal bedding plant and useful for cut or dried flowers.

Grow notes:

Adaptable to most well-drained garden soils in an open sunny position.

Tropical: Late Summer to Early Autumn.
Temperate: Autumn to Spring
Cold: Spring or Early Autumn.

Sow: 6 mm deep.
Sow direct or in trays transplant when 5 cm high, avoid excessive root disturbance.
Germination: 14-28 days.
Plant space: 30 cm
Flowering: 20 weeks

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants
